I know a lot of Chanelistas are confused between the two types of leather. Chanel is very famous for its two options of leather: caviar and lambskin. Here are the difference between the two.
Caviar has more grainy feeling to it, as to compare with the lambskin. As it has more grainy feeling, the texture is less smooth, but more durable when you use it very frequently. It is more resistant against scratches, and hence, you could be less worried when you are carrying your baby Chanel in caviar around the town. The downside of caviar would be it gives less luxury impression due to the texture. Caviar tends to be more structural and stiff.
For Chanelistas that leads a very active lifestyle, caviar would be a more suitable option for you.

Lambskin has a very smooth touch to it. When you stroke the bag, you could definitely feel the luxurious and delightful texture. From experience, lambskin material is slightly lighter than caviar leather. It could help you, if you are someone who likes to carry a lot of things in your bag. However, the downside of lambskin would be it is considerably fragile. It is very easy to scratch a lambskin leather, and very difficult trying to remove it.
For Chanelistas that doesn't really care carrying around an easily abused baby Chanel in lambskin, then it is recommended for you to get this type of leather. Anyway, there would always still be a room for a new one right? :p

To me personally, I would rather get baby Chanel in caviar, as Chanel prices are quite high and getting higher as the year goes by. I don't think my heart could take it when I see a scratch on a baby Chanel in lambskin that could easily cost S$6,000++. But after all, whether one wants to buy Chanel bags in caviar or lambskin, would depends on the person's preference. Whatever your choice is, please do take care of the precious baby, Chanelistas!
